To the members and supporters of the Historical Society of Alberta

Dear Friends,

The H.S.A. AGM scheduled for Saturday May 23rd, 2020 in Lacombe was postponed to September 26, 2020 and will be hosted online. Members were contacted and registration is now complete.

Everyone is no doubt aware of the extraordinary health crisis that is distressing the entire world. As well, the various restrictions placed on public assembly, meetings and travel by the Government of Canada, the Province of Alberta, and many municipalities and local authorities, deserve the active support of all Albertans, as we all wish to do our part to overcome this unprecedented situation.

The not for profit sector in Alberta is advocating with the Government of Alberta regarding clarity as to various needs of the sector in light of the crisis. The issues being discussed include AGMs, information requirements to the Societies Branch, and reporting and financial statements. As with everything in this crisis, there is ever more news to be accommodated with each passing day.

The Historical Society of Alberta will further update you as the crisis evolves.

Most important of all, we wish you, your loved ones, and colleagues continued health. Our thoughts are with anyone suffering from this virus, and for all those and their loved ones affected by the virus in any way. The H.S.A. is a community, and the distress of any of our members is a concern for us all. Our community, in concert with all Albertans and Canadians, will weather this storm.
