HSA is currently seeking individuals to serve on this working board in the position of Treasurer, Second Vice-President, and Director at Large. Each position is a two-year term, to a maximum of eight years in total, starting in September at the AGM.

The Historical Society of Alberta ONLINE Annual General Meeting will be Saturday, September 26, 2020

Dear Friends,

The H.S.A. AGM scheduled for Saturday May 23rd, 2020 in Lacombe was postponed to September 26, 2020 and will be hosted online. Members were contacted and registration is now complete.

Everyone is no doubt aware of the extraordinary health crisis that is distressing the entire world. As well, the various restrictions placed on public assembly, meetings and travel by the Government of Canada, the Province of Alberta, and many municipalities and local authorities, deserve the active support of all Albertans, as we all wish to do our part to overcome this unprecedented situation.

For you to enjoy while out doing Alberta history or just to enjoy, the Historical Society of Alberta has put together this list of songs. Who knows, as you listen to some great music, you may even learn more about the history and people of this phenomenal province. Note: we have been able to find and listen to 200 or so of these songs through CDs and downloadable sources but some were never recorded and, indeed, may not have been sung or played in many years.
