Conference and Annual General Meeting




The Annual General Meeting for the Historical Society of Alberta for 2010 is being held in historic Old Strathcona, hosted by the Edmonton and District Historical Society from May 28-30, 2010. 

“Discover Old Strathcona” will take place from May 28 to May 30, and will focus on this Provincial Historic District.  The Conference opens with a Wine and Cheese social on Friday evening. On Saturday morning, participate in dramatic presentations, refreshments and the AGM; choose one of four tours (Rutherford House, Mount Pleasant, Streetcar/Legislative Building, Historic Bus Tour) in the afternoon;  enjoy the Awards banquet and entertainment in the evening.  On Sunday morning, district representatives from Heritage Fairs around the province will discuss their displays and the winner of the raffle (Via Rail trip to Jasper, a quilt and knitted shawl) will be drawn.

The cost is $100 (early bird before April 30, then $110 until May 21) and includes all costs except the tours and extra banquet tickets.  The venue site is Queen Alexandra School where the EDHS History Centre is located.
